Detroit Lions inactives: No surprises, Ziggy Ansah, Bill Bentley, Corey Hilliard out

Defensive end Ziggy Ansah (ankle), nickelback Bill Bentley (knee) and right tackle Corey Hilliard (knee) are all out for today’s huge game at Chicago. All three were listed as doubtful on Friday’s injury report. None of them practiced at all through the week.

Rookie Devin Taylor will start for Ansah at right defensive end. Rashean Mathis will shift to the nickel and Darius Slay will start at cornerback opposite Chris Houston.

Wide receiver Nate Burleson, who broke his leg in the game at Soldier Field, last season is out today. His broken forearm continues to heal. He was able to practice on a limited basis all week. The fear is that he could do damage if he would fall on it.

Other inactives for the Lions: quarterback Kellen Moore, guard Leroy Harris and running back Mikel Leshoure.

Defensive end Austen Lane, who was signed this week, is expected to see time rotating in at defensive end. He wears No. 97.

If you’ve somehow missed this — the Lions and Bears are both 5-3 overall and 2-1 in the division. Detroit prevailed in Week Four with a 40-32 win over the Bears at Ford Field.
