Detroit Lions: Reggie Bush takes rest day; Ansah, Bentley, Hilliard still out

ALLEN PARK — It’d be surprising if defensive end Ziggy Ansah, nickel Bill Bentley and right tackle Corey Hilliard played on Sunday at Chicago.

None of them have practiced this week including today (Friday).

It's likely that Israel Idonije will start at right defensive end for Ansah. Rashean Mathis has practiced this week at nickel to fill in for Bentley. That means rookie Darius Slay should start at corner. LaAdrian Waddle started at right tackle against the Cowboys and is expected to get the start again on Sunday.

The official injury report will be released at 4 p.m.

Also off on Friday were running back Reggie Bush (knee) who had a veteran’s rest day. He did the same thing two weeks ago before the Dallas game and 122 combined yards in the win.

Safety Louis Delmas was also out. He never practices on Friday, saving his knee for Sundays.

Wide receiver Nate Burleson worked for the fourth straight day in his first full week of practice since he broke his left forearm in a freak pizza-related incident. It’s uncertain if he’ll play on Sunday.

The Lions and Bears are both 5-3 overall and 2-1 in the division. Chicago announced Thursday that quarterback Jay Cutler (groin) is expected to play.
