Chicago Bears quarterback Jay Cutler, who missed a game and a half with a groin injury, is expected to return Sunday to face the Detroit Lions at Soldier Field.
“I love playing against Cutler, he’s a tough guy,’’ Suh said before the announcement. “No discredit to (Josh) McCown, but I want the best shot. Whichever quarterback is healthier, and the healthiest to go and is going to give them their best opportunity, that’s who I want to go against. I want to beat the best no matter what every single week.”
In the first match-up in Week Four, the Lions defensive tackle sacked Cutler twice (see photo) and had a pair of quarterback hurries. The Lions won 40-32. (Stephen Tulloch also had a sack and Louis Delmas intercepted him twice and Glover Quin once.)
The Lions have insisted it doesn’t make a big difference in their preparation whether they face Cutler or McCown who led the Bears to a win at Green Bay on Monday night.
“They’re not changing the play calls, it’s still the same offense,’’ said Lions defensive back Rashean Mathis who is expected to start at nickel.
