ALLEN PARK — Calvin Johnson missed his second straight day of practice today (Thursday). The Lions wide receiver didn’t appear to suffer a major injury in Sunday’s win at Chicago. He routinely takes rest days for his knee. He is scheduled to talk to the media after practice like he does every Thursday.
Ziggy Ansah (ankle), Bill Bentley (knee) and Montell Owens (knee) did not practice. This is the second week that Ansah and Bentley have missed. Owens aggravated his knee injury on Sunday.
Louis Delmas (knee) returned after having Wednesday as a rest day. Delmas routinely practices on Thursdays only, saving his knee for Sundays.
Nate Burleson, who hasn’t missed a day of practice since last Tuesday, returned. He ran routes for the first time on Wednesday in the portion of practice not open to the media.
The Lions (6-3) are preparing to play the Steelers (3-6) on Sunday in Pittsburgh where the Lions haven't won since 1955 when Bobby Layne was quarterback.
