After all the decades of futility, you'd think the Honolulu blue and silver suckers would have learned something. But no, they remain yet another generation of lemmings. The Lions are pretty easy to sum up this year. Despite another soft schedule, they'll finish somewhere between 9-7 or 7-9 (more likely). Maybe they sneak into a wild-card game, only to get blasted again. Their chances of getting to the Super Bowl - much less winning it - are about the same as Barney Fife's were of boxing his way into the heavyweight championship of the world. The Lions and deputy Fife will always have one thing in common. Both took themselves seriously, but they were always destined to serve up more laughs to viewers, rather than be considered competent. The Andy Griffith show reruns persist to this day, as do the Lions with yet another season. The similarities are striking.
