Vanden Bosch: Sunday can't get here quick enough
ALLEN PARK — Kyle Vanden Bosch was back at practice on Monday after sitting out for the last two weeks with a sore shoulder.
The Lions veteran defensive end will play in the opener at Tampa on Sunday.
“The emphasis was to be ready for the opener,’’ Vanden Bosch said.
Even while he was out he worked with the trainers to stay in shape.
“I felt great today like I hadn’t missed a beat. Sunday can’t get here quick enough,’’ Vanden Bosch said.
Cornerback Alphonso Smith practiced Monday for the first time since training camp started. He had broken his foot three weeks before camp.
He will not be playing on Sunday. Coach Jim Schwartz said it could take at least a few weeks to get him in a game.
