Enough already with comparing these Lions to 2008 bunch that went 4-0 in preseason
OK, I’m a patient person, but I am getting sick and tired of hearing, “Yeah, but the Lions were 4-0 in 2008 preseason and finished 0-16.”
Stop it.
Of course it’s true, but it has no relevance to today’s version of the Detroit Lions. Zero, zilch, none.
They are NOT going to finish 0-16. I’ll be shocked if they don’t win more than they lose and find themselves in the playoffs.
Yes, it’s the preseason and no one should get TOO excited, but what we’ve seen is mostly positive. The offense has scored 30 or more points in each win while the defense has allowed a little less than 14 points per game.
There’s room for improvement, although I’m not sure how Matthew Stafford could be much better.
Don’t buy Super Bowl tickets, but forget about 2008. The roster has been totally revamped, new coaching staff, new management. More importantly the attitude has been adjusted.
Please stop with the “yeah, buts” — I just can’t take it any more.
Enjoy the Lions, don’t foul it up with the horrors of yesteryear.

You go girl! I'm tired of the "ya but's", too. Totally different organization than '08
Finally, somebody said it!! Thank you for that, people need to understand that this is not 2008!! I'm not getting to excited about preseason wins either but you have to like how the Lions 1's looked against the Patriots 1's. Most of all, you have to believe this d-line is for real, with the way we were consistently butting Brady on his back. Nice article....
I'm a patient person too, but I've just about had it with your rose-tinted Pollyanna routine. Stop it. The bottom line is the Lions are still nothing until they prove they're something.
We know they haven't proved anything. The point is do you believe they will prove something. You are what you record is and the lions are tied with 31 other teams. Including NE, IND, PIT, GB etc....
