Newest Lions Keiland Williams, Jacques McClendon practice
ALLEN PARK — New faces at Lions’ practice on Monday morning included running back Keiland Williams and guard Jacques McClendon. Both were claimed by the Lions on Sunday.
Williams (5-foot-11, 230 pounds) was signed as an undrafted free agent signed by the Redskins in 2010. He played at LSU.
McClendon (6-foot-3, 324 pounds) was a fourth-round draft pick by the Colts in 2010. He played at Tennessee.
Aaron Brown and Chris Thomas were released on Sunday.
CB Alphonso Smith practiced for first time since camp started on Monday. Nick Fairley and Jason Fox, who both have foot injuries, still didn’t practice.
Four who were signed to the practice squad are safety Ricardo Silva, T Casey Bender, C Dan Gerberry and WR Nate Hughes. Expect four more to be added.
Three players have changed their numbers. Justin Durant now wears 52, Doug Hogue 57 and Brandon Pettigrew has changed to 87.
