After scare, Follett on his way back to Detroit
ALLEN PARK -- Zack Follett was released from the hospital in New Jersey on Monday and sent back to Detroit.
Follett lost consciousness and temporarily feeling in his extremities after a helmet-to-helmet hit on a kickoff in Sunday’s 28-20 loss at the Giants.
“He’s doing a lot better. His tests all came back very, very encouraging, we look forward to a quick recover and seeing him back on the field some time,’’ coach Jim Schwartz said.
There is no relation to Follett’s concussion of a few weeks ago. “This injury has nothing to do with a concussion,’’ Schwartz said.
Whenever the team got an update from the hospital on Sunday, Schwartz shared it with the players. Follett had his cell phone and was also able to call many of his teammates.
Follett also sent a Tweet on Sunday night thanking everyone for their prayers and saying he was OK. You can follow him on Twitter @ZakarianFollett.
