ALLEN PARK — James Ihedigbo was back at Detroit Lions practice on Saturday morning. It was the second straight practice for the starting safety who had been out more than a week with knee and neck injuries. Although on Friday Ihedigbo was officially listed as limited on the practice report.
No sign of safety Don Carey (hamstring) in the portion of practice open to the media. Carey has been out for more than a week, but typically has been on the field watching practice.
Earlier on Saturday, coach Jim Caldwell announced that Matthew Stafford, Stephen Tulloch and Montell Owens will be the captains for the opener on Monday night vs. the Giants.
The ESPN Monday night bus rolled into the practice facility parking lot this morning. Jon Gruden and Mike Tirico were watching practice.
