Detroit Lions WR Calvin Johnson inactive against Cleveland Browns

DETROIT — Calvin Johnson will miss the preseason debut of the new Lions’ offense.
The Lions wide receiver is inactive for tonight’s preseason contest against the Cleveland Browns at Ford Field.

Johnson missed Thursday’s practice and at the time coach Jim Caldwell wouldn’t say if he would play. Johnson practiced on Friday.

Kris Durham will start in place of Johnson.

Also defensive end Ziggy Ansah and wide receiver TJ Jones, who are both on the physically unable to perform list, are inactive.

Devin Taylor will get the start for Ansah.

For the Browns, former Lions' WR Nate Burleson is inactive with a hamstring injury. Burleson did not practice on Thursday. He's at Ford Field and was mingling with some of his former Detroit teammates early in warmups.

Kickoff is at 7:30 p.m. The game will be telecast on WXYZ-TV in Detroit and on the NFL Network nationally.
