ALLEN PARK >> No wonder Detroit Lions coach Jim Caldwell likes it when the team alumni visits.

Former defensive tackle Luther Elliss was one of five Lions’ alumni who visited practice on Monday.

Elliss predicted a playoff win this season. Yes, you read that right.

“For surely double digit wins and I think we’ll go at least surely second round,’’ Elliss said. “I know. Remember even when I was here I was very optimistic back even back in the old days.

“Look at what we have caliberwise and look at what Caldwell is doing. The response these guys have, the love they have or him and the staff here,’’ Elliss said. “That’s a good mixture for success, that’s something you want and what any team strives for. ... I think they have everything here to be successful. The question is is whether they’re going to continue to believe they are who they are.’’
