J.B. Shugarts announces deal with Detroit Lions

J.B. Shugarts, a former Ohio State offensive lineman, tweeted today that he’s now a member of the Lions.

After Jason Fox signed a one-year deal with the Miami Dolphins, the Lions were in need of a fourth offensive tackle. They found one quickly. The first three are Riley Reiff, LaAdrian Waddle and Corey Hilliard.

Shugarts, 24, was undrafted in 2012. He has spent time on practice squads or in the offseason with the Browns, Cowboys and N.Y. Jets. He’s 6-foot-7 and 300 pounds. (In photo he is wearing No. 74.)
