Fox, a fourth-round pick by the Detroit Lions in the 2010 draft, spent the last four seasons with the Lions. Often injured, he played in just 13 games in that span.
He won the starting right tackle spot out of training camp in 2013 but was injured in that first game and missed the next three games. Eventually rookie LaAdrian Waddle took over the starting role.
Fox was an unrestricted free agent. His departure leaves the Lions with just three tackles — Riley Reiff, Waddle and Corey Hilliard. Expect the Lions to draft a tackle to fill that fourth opening.
Fox, who attended the University of Miami, joins ex-Lions teammate Louis Delmas who also signed with the Dolphins.
