Detroit Lions awarded safety Isa Abdul-Quddus off waivers from Saints

Safety Isa Abdul-Quddus was awarded off waivers to the Detroit Lions on Monday.
He was cut by the New Orleans Saints on the first day NFL teams are allowed to waive players under contract for 2014.

The 24-year-old Abdul-Quddus (6-foot-1, 220 pounds) signed as an undrafted free agent with the Saints in 2011 out of Fordham University.

He played in 11 games in 2013 with 13 tackles and one pass defense.

He started three games, played in 15, in 2012 and started one of 16 games he played in as a rookie.
