When Detroit Lions defensive tackle Corey Williams underwent knee surgery on Sept. 25 he hoped it would make him good for the rest of the season. It didn’t work out that way.
Williams was placed on injured reserve on Tuesday to end his season, according to reports.
Defensive tackle Andre Fluellen, who spent his first four seasons in Detroit, was re-signed.
Williams, a veteran leader on defense, played in just six games all season and hadn’t played since Nov. 4.
Nick Fairley has started the last five games in place of Williams. Fairley suffered a shoulder injury on Sunday at Green Bay and was to undergo tests on Monday. Results of those tests are unknown.

At last some good news, Fluellen should not have made the final cut last year...
He is vital to the d-line being strong....as he rotates with Suh, Fairley and williams...(strength in numbers)
