Not only did the Lions come back late and win the game 26-23 in overtime at Philadelphia on Sunday, they perhaps changed the course of their season by boosting their record to 2-3.
They are still the bottom-dwellers in the NFC North. But it’s a division that will see plenty of changes before the end of December.
The Lions play at Chicago on Monday Night Football next week. The Bears (4-1) are 6-point favorites but that could change over the week. Remember last year the Lions beat the Bears in a MNF game at Ford Field thanks in large part to Jahvid Best. (We should learn the results of his concussion tests this afternoon.)
Minnesota dropped to 4-2 after loss to the Washington Redskins in Christian Ponder’s worst game of the season. The Vikings play at home against Arizona (4-2) on Sunday.
The Packers (3-3) were most impressive handing the Houston Texans their first loss on Sunday night football. They play at St. Louis (3-3) on Sunday.
The Lions-Bears game is key because it’s a division game. It should be a dandy.
