Lions' Suh apparently fined $20,000 for hit on Dalton
ALLEN PARK — Apparently the NFL is sending an early message to Lions’ DT Ndamukong Suh.
According to a tweet from Suh, he has been fined $20,000 for the hit on Cincinnati QB Andy Dalton in Friday night’s preseason opener. No official word on the fine yet.
Suh’s tweet: $20,000REALLY???!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
He was called for a roughing the passer penalty which cost the Lions 15 yards. On Sunday, Suh said he doesn’t think he’s crossed the line and become a dirty player.
He’s aggressive and was fined twice in his rookie season.
“It’s a fine line and you don’t want to take aggressiveness away, but you also need to be aware and we need to do a better job with that,’’ coach Jim Schwartz said on Sunday.
More to come after practice. Hopefully with fresh comments from Suh and Schwartz.
