Lions Calvin Johnson has more tests on shoulder

ALLEN PARK -- No news on condition of Calvin Johnson’s shoulder after he fell on it in the fourth quarter of Sunday’s 44-6 win over the Rams.

Coach Jim Schwartz said if the Lions practiced today (Monday) he would not be able to go. The coach said more tests were being done.

Also, Schwartz said that QB Matthew Stafford continues to progress with his shoulder injury. He was expected to throw today. He said Stafford has had no setbacks. Shaun Hill has started the last four games.

After Sunday at the New York Giants, the Lions have their bye week. It would seem they’d give Stafford another week off if he was close and considering the Giants have 13 sacks in the last eight quarters.

But Schwartz said Stafford will play when he is ready.

Neither Johnson or Stafford were available to talk to the media today.
