Best, Burleson, Scheffler active for Lions
DETROIT -- RB Jahvid Best, TE Tony Scheffler and WR Nate Burleson were all questionable for today’s game vs. the St. Louis Rams, but all three will play.
The coaches must have faith that Best’s turf toe will not bother him much because the only other active running backs are Kevin Smith and FB Jerome Felton.
Running backs Aaron Brown is out with a broken hand and Maurice Morris is inactive as a coach’s decision.
One position change of note is that Alphonso Smith will start at right cornerback instead of Jonathan Wade. Smith has an interception in each of the last two games so this is not unexpected.
DE Lawrence Jackson, who also was not on the injury report, is inactive.
QB Matthew Stafford (shoulder) and MLB DeAndre Levy (groin, ankle) were listed on Friday’s injury report as out.
Shaun Hill will get his fourth straight start at QB with Landon Johnson starting in place of Levy.
Others who are inactive are T Jamon Meredith, T Jason Fox and DE Willie Young.
