Would Lions be 3-1 if The Catch by Calvin had been ruled a touchdown?
One of my neighbors thinks if The Catch by Calvin Johnson in the opener at Chicago had been ruled a touchdown that the Lions would be 3-1, and maybe 4-0, now instead of 0-4.
First thought was that he’s crazy. But on further review perhaps he is right. I’m not buying 4-0, but maybe 3-1.
In the four losses the Lions have lost by a combined 24 points. Fourteen of those were in the loss to the Vikings which means they lost three games by a total of 10 points.
Don’t tell me a loss is a loss. It isn’t.
Last season in the first four losses, the Lions had lost by a combined point total of 61 points.
Last year at Lambeau Field, in the sixth game of the season, the Lions were smoked 26-0. On Sunday they lost 28-26 at Lambeau.
Face it, this is a different team even if you just measure by points on the scoreboard.
Oh, one more thing. When will we ever quit mentioning The Catch? Not for a long, long time.
