Lions' WR Calvin Johnson healthy, ready to go
ALLEN PARK — Unlike most of last season, Lions WR Calvin Johnson is healthy now and plans to stay that way.
“The big thing for me this year, one I want to stay healthy so I can be out there every Sunday so I can help contribute,’’ Johnson said on Thursday.
He’s back at the Lions practice facility for the offseason workouts that began this week.
During the offseason he’s been working on strengthening the areas around his joints to hopefully allow him to stay healthy.
Last year he played in 14 games, but he was not 100 percent for many of them.
“It was rough you know, never really been injured like that. Having the nagging stuff, it’s the nagging stuff that’s the only thing that really sucks,’’ Johnson said.
Like every offseason, Johnson has bounced back from disappointment and has a positive attitude.
“You always have to have faith things are going to get better, you can’t ever get down and not think things are going to get better or they definitely won’t,’’ Johnson said. “You always have to keep a positive outlook.’’
