Report: Lions trade for veteran QB Hill
The Lions had no comment today on a newspaper report that they had struck a deal with the San Francisco 49ers to bring veteran quarterback Shaun Hill to Detroit in exchange for a seventh-round draft pick in 2011. The Sacramento Bee credited a league source in its report of the deal.
The Lions are in need of a veteran quarterback to back up Matthew Stafford, which was Daunte Culpepper’s role last season.
Hill and Lions offensive coordinator Scott Linehan worked together while both were with the Minnesota Vikings for three seasons (2002-2004).
