Lions close in on deal for CB Chris Houston
The Lions could finalize a trade as soon as today with the Atlanta Falcons for three-year veteran CB Chris Houston according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter. The Lions would give up a sixth-round pick and change order in another pick according to Schefter.
Detroit has a huge need at corner after releasing Phillip Buchanon, and letting Anthony Henry and Will James become unrestricted free agents.
Houston started in 10 of the 12 games he played for the Falcons last season, finishing with 47 tackles, nine passes defended and one interception. He started all 16 games in 2008 and 11 of 16 as a rookie.
He was a second-round pick (41st overall) of the Falcons in the 2007 draft. The 5-foot-11, 175 pound corner played college ball at Arkansas.
