Former Lions LB Foote says Cards top choice
Unrestricted free agent linebacker Larry Foote, who played for the Lions last season, told the Arizona Republic that the Arizona Cardinals are his first choice. He has also visited the Washington Redskins.
The Lions were interested in re-signing Foote, but obviously have not reached an agreement. He came to Detroit in 2009 on a one-year deal worth about $1.5 million.
He now reportedly wants a three-year deal worth approximately $14 million. The Lions also have linebackers Julian Peterson, DeAndre Levy and Ernie Sims under contract.
Foote, who grew up in Detroit and played at Michigan, started 14 games for the Lions last year, missing the final two with an ankle injury.
Without him, the Lions locker room will be much quieter. That’s not necessarily a good thing.
