ALLEN PARK — Defensive tackle Andre Fluellen has re-signed with the Lions to add depth to the position with Nick Fairley injured.
Fluellen was with the Lions in the offseason. He signed as a free agent on March 21 but then was cut on Aug. 30 in the final round of cuts.
In 2013 he saw action in 13 games for the Lions. It was his sixth season with the team since he was was drafted by the Lions in the third round in 2008.
In 2012 Fluellen played two games for the Miami Dolphins.
To make room on the roster, the Lions released cornerback Danny Gorrer who had played in six games this season.
Coach Jim Caldwell said Monday that it is uncertain when Fairley will be ready to return.
