When the Detroit Lions suspended defensive tackle C.J. Mosley and sent him home from London, they were mum on the reason.
ESPN’s Chris Mortensen reported on Sunday, that according to a source, Mosley had disconnected a smoke alarm in his hotel room and was found to be in possession of marijuana.
Mortensen also reported that Mosley is filing a grievance with the NFLPA whether he was falsely suspended.
The suspension was for two weeks. Coach Jim Caldwell would not offer more specifics but speculation is that Mosley will be available for the Lions game against the Miami Dolphins on Sunday, Nov. 9.
With Nick Fairley out with a knee injury, the Lions are down to Ndamukong Suh, rookie Caraun Reid and Mosley at defensive tackle.
This is the bye weekend for the Lions (6-2), Green Bay Packers (5-3) and Chicago Bears (3-5).
