Wide receiver Golden Tate to visit Detroit Lions

Free agent wide receiver Golden Tate is expected to visit the Lions tonight (Tuesday night) according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

The Lions have a need for a No. 2 wide receiver and Tate could fill that role. NFL free agency started at 4 p.m. Tuesday.

Tate, who has been with the Seahawks the past four seasons, played in all 16 games in 2013, starting 13 of them. He had 64 catches for 898 yards and five touchdowns in the regular season for the Super Bowl champs.

Earlier the Lions signed wide receiver Kevin Ogletree to a one-year deal and signed running back Joique Bell to a three-year contract worth $9.3 million.
