Report - Miami Dolphins sign Louis Delmas who had been cut by Detroit Lions

Louis Delmas, considered one of the top safeties available, has signed a one-year contract with the Miami Dolphins according to a report on ProFootballTalk.com.

Delmas, a second-round pick by the Lions in 2009, had spent five seasons with the Lions. He was released a few weeks ago, giving him a chance to find another team before the start of free agency on Tuesday.

Despite a bad left knee, Delmas played in every game for the Lions last season. However he rarely practiced to save the knee for Sundays.

Delmas, who brought an immense amount of energy to the field (and actually wherever he went) will be missed by fans. Well, some fans.

Miami seems like a good fit if for no other reason than it’s his home. He played at North Miami Beach High School before attending Western Michigan.
