ALLEN PARK — Four starters did not practice today (Wednesday) in preparation to play at Green Bay on Sunday.
Perhaps the biggest news is that cornerback Rashean Morris who left the game in the first quarter was back at practice. He was tested for a concussion but never met the criteria. Coach Jim Schwartz said Mathis had worked out on Monday with no symptoms.
Among the missing was Chris Houston. He sustained a leg injury in the fourth quarter Sunday and could not finish the game was not on the field. Schwartz said on Monday he was day to day or week to week.
Safety Glover Quin, who played all of the defensive snaps in the win over the Bears, did not practice with an undetermined injury.
Wide receiver Calvin Johnson didn’t practice but it’s not that unusual. He was on the field but didn’t practice last week on Wednesday.
Safety Louis Delmas, who rarely practices, also was not on the field for the early portion of practice open to the media.
Wide receiver Pat Edwards, who was inactive on Sunday, was back at practice just like all week.
The Lions (3-1) are tied with the Bears atop the NFC North. The Packers (1-2) are coming off a bye week. Detroit has not beat the Packers in Wisconsin since Dec. 15, 1991.
