ALLEN PARK — Calvin Johnson didn’t practice again today (Friday) for the third straight days. The Lions wide receiver has been dealing with a lingering knee issue.

Johnson said Thursday they were trying to shut him down at practice, so his knee will be as good as it can get on Sunday. There didn’t seem to be a doubt that he would play at Jacksonville.

Also, missing from Friday’s practice were Louis Delmas (knee) and Amari Spievey (concussion). Both of them have missed all this week’s practice too. The injury report is released at 4 p.m., but would be surprised if either would play on Sunday.

 Cliff Avril, who has had a back problem for weeks, returned to practice on Friday after sitting out on Wednesday and Thursday.
