It may be the off-season for the Lions, but that doesn't mean there isn't something to discuss especially coming off a 10-6 season. Check here for commentary and updates on roster moves, free agency and, yes, the draft.

Lions sign Colbert

The Lions re-signed free-agent Keary Colbert, adding him to the mix of potential No. 5 receivers.

Colbert played four games with the Lions last year and caught five passes for 64 yards. He also spent time with Seattle and Denver last year after playing his first four seasons in Carolina.

He'll battle John Standeford, Will Franklin, Eric Fowler and Chris Hannon for the final receiver position.

I take it Boldin likely will be PS?

Yeah, Boldin didn't look great in rookie camp in my opinion. Had a few drops, double-caught some balls in drills. Let's see what he looks like when he comes back in a few weeks.

I remember when Colbert was coming out of USC; some folks were saying that Colbert was basically the exact same prospect as Mike Williams, just not quite as big. That was, of course, meant at the time to be a compliment . . .

When he came in to Carolina and immediately found success, I thought he was the real deal. His disappearing act has completely befuddled me.

Peace
Ty
