At the half, the Detroit Lions are surviving the snow better than the Eagles in the snowstorm at Philadelphia.
Lions running back Joique Bell scored on a two-yard run and then caught a pass from Matthew Stafford on a two-point conversion to give Detroit an 8-0 lead in the second quarter.
The Eagles got in gear late in the second quarter but were stopped from scoring when Rashean Mathis broke up a pass from Nick Foles. It was Mathis’ third pass breakup of the half.
Calvin Johnson had two catches for 43 yards, enough to break Herman Moore’s record for the most receiving yards in franchise history.
At the half, Stafford was 6 of 12 for 87 yards and a 74.0 quarterback rating.
Eagles quarterback Nick Foles was 4 of 10 for 35 yards, one interception and a 10.4 rating.
Reggie Bush slipped in the pre-game to aggravate his calf injury. He was questionable after that and did not play in the first half.
