ALLEN PARK — Calvin Johnson and Louis Delmas didn’t practice Wednesday for the second straight day. Reggie Bush also sat out which is not uncommon. All three are nursing lingering knee injuries.
Philadelphia Eagles coach Chip Kelly is keeping his fingers crossed he won’t face Johnson on Sunday.
“He’s hurt, not going to play this week, right?’’ Kelly asked in a conference call on Wednesday morning. He was joking, kind of.
This is the first time Kelly has coached against the wide receiver known as Megatron.
“He’s a lot of fun to watch on tape,’’ Kelly said. “I wish I didn’t have to see him in person.’’He also praised Delmas.
“Delmas is one of the most physical safeties in this league and seems to be around the ball all the time,’’ Kelly said.
All three routinely take days off and are expected to play on Sunday in Philadelphia.
