Detroit Lions: Calvin Johnson practices third straight day; Riddick returns

ALLEN PARK — With Calvin Johnson (knee) returning to practice for the third straight day today (Friday), the question for Sunday isn’t whether he will play but how much.

The Lions wide receiver was in for about half the offensive snaps in last week’s win at Cleveland and had three receptions for 25 yards. Expect to see him more Sunday at Ford Field against the Cincinnati Bengals.

Running back Theo Riddick, who suffered a concussion on Oct. 6, returned to practice for the first time on Friday.

Missing from Friday’s practice were: Tony Scheffler (concussion), Jason Fox (knee) and safety Louis Delmas who takes Fridays as a rest day.

Nate Burleson (broken forearm) did not practice, but he was back on the field with his teammates wearing a protective sleeve on his left arm. The wide receiver said on Thursday he would love to be back for the Dallas game on Oct. 27. He's waiting for the bone to heal so it's too early to set a return date.
