Lions take cautious approach with Jahvid Best
Jahvid Best did not go through early drills in Tuesday’s practice, but instead was running along the sidelines with a trainer.
The rookie running back has not missed a game, but has been hampered with turf toe all season. The Lions are taking a cautious approach with him.
“You need to balance his getting reps in practice and going through everything with his availability on Sunday and his availability over the course of the season and putting that injury behind him. I think we’re on the right track there,’’ Schwartz said.
The fact that the Lions are coming off their bye week is obviously also helpful to Best.
