Bill Ford Jr. contacts league about ruling
ALLEN PARK -- Bill Ford Jr., in an interview on WJR this morning, said that he has contacted the league about the controversial call on the Calvin Johnson non-touchdown catch that cost the Lions a win in Chicago on Sunday
He saw a catch, just like the fans saw a catch. He did not say what the response was from the NFL.
Ford, vice chairman of the Detroit Lions, said he hasn’t been able to have the same restraint as coach Jim Schwartz. He said he believes Schwartz has handled it absolutely the correct way because it’s the coach’s job to get the team focused on what they can control.
The Lions will face Michael Vick and the Philadelphia Eagles in the home opener on Sunday at Ford Field.
Speculation here is that if Johnson should catch a ball in the end zone on Sunday, he might hold onto it until the officials wrestle it away.
