Donte Stallworth is a wide receiver looking for a job now that he’s been reinstated by the NFL. He was forced to sit out the 2009 season after pleading guilty to driving under the influence and second-degree manslaughter after striking and killing a pedestrian in Miami Beach, Fla., in March 2008.
Stallworth was to work out for the Lions on Wednesday according to ProFootballTalk.com. The Lions had no comment.
Lions management must look at the risk-reward factor here. Stallworth’s best season was in 2005 and since then he’s been hampered by hamstring injuries. Perhaps a year off was just the cure, perhaps not. Also, is he the kind of character guy they want?
