TE Campbell another soon-to-be ex-Lion

One more name to add to the list of pending ex-Lions.

Tight end Dan Campbell will be released on Monday, the first day transactions are allowed under league rules, his agent confirmed in an email. Campbell has finished the last two seasons on injured reserve with serious elbow and hamstring injuries. When healthy, he was a reliable blocker and down-field threat.

Cornerback Leigh Bodden, receiver Mike Furrey, left guard Edwin Mulitalo and possibly others will be released before the start of free agency as the Lions continue to purge their roster and clear cap space. Campbell was scheduled to make $2.1 million next year.

good riddance. he was an awesome TE when he was healthy, but since that rarely happened here, it was time to pull the plug. i agree with all the cuts so far cuz they either didn't wanna be here anymore or they just weren't productive while they were here.
