No surprise - Lions blacked out again
The Lions failed to sellout for the fourth time in seven home games this year, meaning Sunday's meeting with Minnesota will not be broadcast on local television. About 7,000 tickets remained as of Thursday's 1 p.m. deadline.
The Lions needed a 24-hour extension to reach a sellout for their Thanksgiving loss to Tennessee last week. A week earlier, they played in front of the smallest crowd in Ford Field history, 49,096.
The Washington and Jacksonville games also have been blacked out.
Fans attending Sunday's game are asked to bring new, unwrapped toys as part of the Lions' 14th annual Tots for Toys Toy Drive.
