Detroit Lions: Ziggy Ansah back on the practice field

ALLEN PARK — Lions defensive end Ziggy Ansah practiced today (Friday) for the second straight day.

He was participating in position drills during the portion of practice open to the media.

Ansah, who is expected to start at right defensive end, still has a chance to play in Sunday’s opener against the Vikings at Ford Field. Coach Jim Schwartz will not offer specifics.

Ansah’s official game status will be released at 4 p.m.

The first-round draft pick suffered a concussion on Aug. 24. He had not practiced until this week. He was on the field Tuesday, running on the sidelines on Wednesday.
Jason Jones, who will start at left defensive end, was on the field but didn’t have a helmet on Friday.

Also out was safety Louis Delmas (knee) who likely had a rest day.
