Detroit Lions :Cornerback Conroy Black signed, King released

ALLEN PARK — The tweaking of the secondary continues for the Lions as they prepare for their second preseason game on Thursday at Cleveland.

Cornerback Conroy Black has been signed. To make room on the roster, cornerback Brandon King was released.

Black is no stranger to the Lions. He signed a futures contract on Jan. 1. He participated in rookie camp and then was released on May 16. He signed with the Chiefs just before training camp and was cut last week.

Black, who is 6-foot and 187 pounds, played at Utah and was undrafted in 2012.

Tuesday’s practice gets under way shortly. On Monday six of the seven players who were out with injuries were defensive backs.
