Detroit Lions: Louis Delmas, Ryan Broyles among inactives vs. Jets

DETROIT — Safety Louis Delmas and Ryan Broyles are among the inactives for the Detroit Lions’ preseason opener tonight against the New York Jets at Ford Field.

Neither is a surprise. Delmas is on a program to keep his knee as healthy as possible.

Broyles, who is coming off his second ACL surgery in two years, didn’t full participate in practice on Wednesday and Thursday.

Also out for the Lions are three cornerbacks — Ron Bartell (shoulder), cornerback Jonte Green (hamstring) and Chris Greenwood (hamstring).

Others who won’t play include guard Leroy Harris and defensive end Israel Idonije.

Some of the inactive players may take place in pregame warmups, but they will not play.

The offensive starters are expected to stay in for a few series.

Tonight will mark Reggie Bush’s first game in a Lions’ uniform.
