Calvin Johnson (knee bruise) will not play in the preseason game tonight (Thursday) at the Cleveland Browns. Johnson also sat out Tuesday’s practice. Don’t be too concerned. It’s the preseason.
Wide receiver Ryan Broyles (knee), who didn’t play last week, is expected to see action. Patrick Edwards, who has had a good camp, will start in his place.
As expected Louis Delmas will not play against the Browns. Delmas said this week he is on target to play in the regular season, he is doubtful about seeing any preseason action due to his knee woes. Don Carey will start in his place.
Others expected out are Jonte Green, Chris Greenwood, John Wendling and Matt Veldman.
The Lions just announced that Bill Ford Jr., the Lions’ vice chairman, will be named to the NFL Broadcasting Committee, arguably the most important NFL business committee.
The game will be broadcast on WXYZ-TV, Channel 7 in Detroit.
