ALLEN PARK — On their first practice back after the bye week, the Detroit Lions were missing just two players.
Defensive tackle Corey Williams, who is recovering from knee surgery on Sept. 25, was out today (Tuesday) along with tight end Brandon Pettigrew whose injury is unknown.
Seven players that missed practice six days ago — Cliff Avril, Dominic Raiola, Rob Sims, Stephen Tulloch, Bill Bentley, John Wendling and Justin Durant — were back on the field at least for the media portion of Tuesday’s practice.
Linebacker Chris Greenwood was watching practice. He and Jahvid Best, who are both on the physically unable to perform list, will be allowed to practice next week. The big question for Best is will he be cleared for contact.
The Lions (1-3) play four of their next five games on the road, starting on Sunday at the Philadelphia Eagles (3-2).
