No sign of Delmas or Houston at Wednesday's practice
ALLEN PARK — Louis Delmas and Chris Houston did not practice today (Wednesday) during the portion of practice open to the media which makes it unlikely they will practice today.
Obviously this lessens their chances of playing in the regular season opener on Sunday against the St. Louis Rams at Ford Field.
Delmas missed every preseason game following knee surgery after the start of training camp. John Wendling started in his place and is likely to start on Sunday if Delmas does not play.
Houston injured his ankle in the third preseason game and has not practiced since. It’s unclear who will take his place. It could be newly acquired corner Drayton Florence if he’s up to speed with the scheme.
Rookie Bill Bentley is expected to start at right cornerback.
