ALLEN PARK — Safety Ricardo Silva is back with the Lions although on the practice squad. It was announced Wednesday morning.

When the Lions made the cuts last week, they left just four safeties on the 53-man roster including Louis Delmas who hasn’t practiced in more than a month following knee surgery.

Silva can now continue to practice with the team and if needed can be brought up from the practice squad.

The Lions practice at 11 a.m. so we’ll see if Delmas is back at it. If not, it seems unlikely he’ll be ready for Sunday’s opener against the Rams.

To make room on the practice squad Ross Weaver was released.
