Lions issue statement on Corey Williams' 2011 arrest
The Lions have issued a statement on DT Corey Williams' DUI arrest in Arkansas on June 18, 2011. It says:
“Corey did not report this incident to us when it happened due to the prohibition of contact during last year’s work stoppage. We are aware of today’s reports. We are in the process of gathering more information and will have further comment when appropriate.”
According to ProFootballTalk.com, Williams was in court earlier this week — 13 months after the incident — arguing that the police did hot have probable cause to pull him over. He blew a 0.10 percent blood-alcohol lever on the Breathalyzer.
When Nick Fairley was arrested this spring, Williams didn't have much to say except he'd let the coaches handle it.
