Lions moves: Dizon on IR, Hunter released
ALLEN PARK -- Busy day here and practice has not started yet. The Lions just made it official that LB Jordon Dizon, who injured his knee in Saturday’s preseason loss, is out for the season.
The team signed rookie undrafted free agent LB Lee Campbell to replace Dizon. Campbell was at Detroit’s minicamp at the end of June, then was released on July 31.
Also today, the Lions released DE Jason Hunter who started nine games for the Lions last season and played in 14. He spent his first three years in the league at Green Bay.
S Ko Simpson, who is coming off ACL surgery, was also taken off the physically unable to perform list which is a good sign for the secondary.
