Nothing new for Foote
ALLEN PARK After seven seasons with the Steelers, linebacker Larry Foote played his first game as a Detroit Lion. The loss to the Saints wasnt pretty, but it wasnt all new territory. Foote was part of winning two Super Bowls in Pittsburgh, but he also was part of some ugly losses. He is not the kind of guy to hang his head.
Its just one game, Im not making excuses for the game about new schemes, new players. It was a nice little butt whooping. Thats nothing. Ive taken butt whoopings before, but well come out fighting. I know youve heard that cliche before, but well see this week, Foote said.
It doesnt get much easier for the defense with Adrian Peterson, Brett Favre and the Minnesota Vikings coming to town on Sunday. Peterson rushed for 180 yards on 25 carries for three touchdowns in the Vikings 34-20 win over Cleveland on Sunday.
